THE LOWDOWN

"Very little can beat the “Jérusalem” run at the end of the day, stopping for a beer or vin chaud on the way down."

If you fancy some time-off or want to cram in other stuff, there are plenty of fun (or more relaxing) activities to choose from:

Pamper at the Spa – to relax and unwind why not head to one of the two lovely spas nearby La Béla Vya is on your doorstep in Saint Marcel, combining relaxation and all-natural products in a warm, typically mountain environment. Advance reservation is recommended. Ô des Cimes can be found in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. This popular ‘Altitude Spa’ offers a wide-range of well-being and beauty treatments using fabulous Decléor products. Advance reservation is recommended.

Take a dip – The modern leisure centre of Les Bruyeres is located a short drive or free-bus ride away. Here you’ll find an aqua-spa pool, sauna, hammam and extensive sport and gym facilities.

Mush Mush – Our local, utterly gorgeous pack of sled-dogs can whisk you on a ride along the track just below The Stone Shed. It’s a very popular activity so make sure to reserve at the Tourist Office.

Snowshoe – Strap them on & you’re ready to go. You can book a guided walk via the Tourist Office or with a Ski-school guide.

Sledging – Grab one of ours and head for the great hills adjacent to the chalet.

Roc ‘n’ Bob / Roc ‘n’ Bike – In nearby Les Menuires, you’ll find a pisted course dedicated to toboganning or downhill mountain biking. John can vouch for it being great fun, if a little hair-raising!

Museum of Saint Martin – It’s compact, well thought-out and very sweet. Located within the Tourist Office… pass an interesting hour learning more about the history, culture and people of this valley.
